A Morocco tour with a private driver is the most comfortable way to discover the country. You travel only with the people you choose, set your own pace and stop wherever you like. We have organised trips like this since 2015. Here is an honest guide to how they work, what they cost and what to look out for.
What does “private with a driver” mean?
Private means that only you and your travel companions are in the vehicle. No minibus full of strangers and no fixed departure times for a large group. Your driver picks you up at your accommodation and stays with you for the whole trip, in an air-conditioned 4x4.
- You decide on photo stops, breaks and visits.
- Your driver knows the roads, the places to stay and the people along the way.
- The route can be adapted before the trip, and often during it.
- In cities such as Fes or Marrakech you can also book an official local guide.
How your private tour works
- Request: write to us on WhatsApp or through the tailor-made form, with your dates, number of travellers and wishes.
- Route: we suggest a route that fits and adjust it until it is right for you.
- Price: we agree the final price with you, depending on the number of travellers, the season and the accommodation.
- Pick-up: your driver collects you at your accommodation, for example in Marrakech, Casablanca or Tangier.
- On the road: you stay in traditional hotels, riads or kasbahs and, in the Sahara, in a desert camp, with breakfast and dinner.
- End: on the last day your driver drops you at your accommodation at the end of the route.
What does a private tour in Morocco cost?
Here are our “from” prices for the most popular routes. The final price depends on the number of travellers, the season and the accommodation. We agree it with you personally on WhatsApp, honestly and with no hidden costs.
| Length | Route | Price |
|---|---|---|
| 3 days | Marrakech → Merzouga → Marrakech | from 389 € |

The price usually includes: air-conditioned 4x4 with fuel, an English-speaking driver, nights with breakfast and dinner and, in the desert, the camel ride and the night at the camp. Lunches, drinks and tips are not included.
Which route fits your time?
- 3 to 4 days: the Sahara from Marrakech. Merzouga is about 550 kilometres away, so plan at least three days. If you continue to Fes, you cross the desert without a detour.
- 6 to 8 days: oases, gorges and desert at a gentler pace, or the imperial cities of Fes, Meknes and Rabat together with the Sahara.
- 11 to 16 days: the grand tours from Marrakech or Casablanca, with the Atlantic coast and Essaouira.
- From Tangier: for arrivals by ferry from Spain, via Fes to the desert.

Private tour or group tour?
| Group tour | Private tour | |
|---|---|---|
| Fellow travellers | often many strangers | only your group |
| Departure | fixed dates | on the day you choose |
| Pace and stops | the same for everyone | as you like |
| Route | fixed | flexible |
| Price | cheaper per person | higher, shared between travellers |
For couples, families and small groups of friends, a private tour is often the more relaxed choice.
Our tips for travelling with a driver
- Plan realistic stages. The roads over the Atlas are winding, and good breaks are part of the trip.

- A tip for your driver at the end of the trip is up to you.
- Pack warm clothes for the desert night, even in spring and autumn.
- Find the best season for the desert and the Atlas in our article Best time to visit Morocco.
