Marrakech → Merzouga → Fes
The Sahara as a bridge between two imperial cities. Ideal if your trip continues in Fes.
from €439
The compact desert tour from Marrakech. In three days you cross the High Atlas, visit the famous kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, stay overnight in the Dades Gorge and on the second evening ride camels into the sunset over the dunes of Merzouga.
You spend the night in a desert camp with dinner, Berber music by the campfire and a starry sky you will not forget. On day three you return to Marrakech through the Draa Valley and over the Tizi n’Tichka pass.
We pick you up in Marrakech in the morning. Over the High Atlas and the Tizi n’Tichka pass you reach the UNESCO kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, the backdrop for many films. On through Ouarzazate, the “gateway to the desert”, the palm oasis of Skoura with the Amridil kasbah, and the Valley of Roses, whose fields bloom in May. In the afternoon you reach the Dades Gorge with its red rock formations. Dinner and night at the hotel.
Today you visit the Todra Gorge, whose walls rise around 300 metres. A walk along the clear mountain river, then the drive through Berber villages and the Ziz Valley towards the Sahara. In Merzouga you climb onto a camel and ride into the sunset over the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi. Dinner, Berber music and night in the desert camp.
It is worth getting up early: sunrise over the dunes is magical. After breakfast you drive via Alnif with its fossils, Tazzarine and Agdz in the palm-filled Draa Valley to Ouarzazate. Over the Tichka pass you reach Marrakech again in the evening.
